OCALA, FL (352today.com) – On Sept. 24, the Ocala Police Department received a report concerning a threatening Facebook post targeting Meadowbrook Academy at 4741 SW 20th Street, Ocala. The post, made around 6 a.m. by an account under the name Oksana Sophia Oeputat, alluded to a threat of a school shooting. The account owner was identified as 30-year-old Oksana Deputat, a former student of the school.

Meadowbrook Academy’s safety was prioritized, and law enforcement acted swiftly to address the situation. Ocala PD officers were immediately dispatched to the campus to ensure the security of students and staff. Through investigative means, our detectives located Ms. Deputat. Further investigation revealed additional alarming posts on the defendant’s social media account that elevated police concern.

An OPD detective established sufficient probable cause to charge the defendant with a written threat to conduct a mass shooting and disrupting an educational institution’s function.
