WILDWOOD, FL (352today.com) – The City of Wildwood introduced Jackson Street Youth Center and Fourth Street Youth Center to the Summer BreakSpot meal program. The City of Wildwood partnered with the Sumter County School District to make this new addition to the program possible and accessible.

Summer BreakSpot is a federally funded program, administered by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in collaboration with local organizations to bring nutritious meals to children over summer break. This program provides meals to students through schools, non-profit organizations and government entities for safe and easy to access locations. The program also reimburses participants through the Summer Food Service Program and Seamless Summer Option.

This program will bring nutritional foods to children 18 years old and younger during summer school recess in Wildwood to make sure all children have access to healthy meals. The program will continue every weekday until Friday, June 26 and will pick up again on Monday, July 6, lasting through Thursday, July 23. Students can receive breakfast from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Jackson Street Youth Center, 610 Jackson St. They can also receive breakfast from 8-9 a.m. or lunch from 12-12:30 p.m. at the Fourth Street Youth Center, 602 Fourth St.

Students do not have to be enrolled or registered in Wildwood’s summer camp program. All students 18 years old and younger can attend either location during designated times to receive meals. To learn more about this new installment into the program, visit their website here.
