OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Since this Friday is the big day, there are still a few outstanding Halloween events for festive fun and trick or treating. For those looking for interactive fun, the weekend will be filled with shows and a lively reenactment.

MCSO Annual Safe & Spooktacular Halloween Party

  • What: The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is hosting the Safe & Spooktacular Halloween Party where kids can collect candy, play games, take a look at MCSO vehicles and K-9 and more.
  • When: Friday, Oct. 31 from 5-8 p.m.
  • Where: The Town Square at Circle Square Commons, 8405 SW 80th St., Ocala.
  • Cost: Free admission.

Halloween Celebration at the WEC

  • What: The World Equestrian Center invites families to trick or treat at the Grand Plaza and enjoy cookie and pumpkin decorating, face painting, balloon art and live music while parents can take advantage of photo opportunities.
  • When: Friday, Oct. 31 from 6:30-9 p.m.
  • Where: The World Equestrian Center, 1750 NW 80th Ave., Ocala.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show Shadowcast

  • What: The Lo-Fi Theatre Company is hosting a shadowcast performance of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” with audience members getting interactive props to join the fun. Due to the themes of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, the show is only for ages 16 and older.
  • When: Friday, Oct. 31 and Saturday, Nov. 1 starting at 8 p.m.
  • Where: The Marion Theatre, 50 S Magnolia Ave., Ocala.
  • Cost: $20 for general admission.

A Dicken’s Christmas: The Urban Family Holiday

  • What: A Dicken’s Christmas: The Urban Family Holiday Exhibition’s opening weekend begins during the first week of November and will continue to Jan. 11, 2026. The family of Dr. Paul and Joyce Urban wanted to share the love of Christmas with children around the world and share a portion of their collection to the Appleton Museum every year to bring the whimsy to Ocala.
  • When: Saturday, Nov. 1 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Where: The Appleton Museum of Art, 4333 E Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala.
  • Cost: $10 for adults, $5 for ages 6-17 and free for 5 and under.

41st Annual Ocklawaha River Raid

  • What: With only one Civil War battle occurring in Marion County, Authentic Union, Confederate, and civilian re-enactors from all around Florida are coming together to recreate the skirmish that took place at the Ocklawaha River. There will be plenty of areas with knowledgeable reenactors that guests can engage with to learn the history of their roles, a scavenger hunt for Civil War fragments, a history center to learn about Florida’s part and a simulated battle to show guests what happened through display.
  • When: Saturday, Nov. 1 and Sunday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Where: Florida Horse Park, 11008 South Hwy. 475, Ocala.
  • Cost: $10 per car.

The Crucible at the Ocala Civic Theatre

  • What: The opening weekend for “The Crucible” begins during the final weekend of October where guests will take a journey through the bewitching tales of the Salem Witch Trials. Guests can watch as the line between guilt and innocence becomes blurred in the Puritan Colony of Massachusetts.
  • When: Thursday-Sunday, Oct. 30-Nov. 2. Thursday and Friday begin at 7:30 p.m., Saturday has a 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. option and Sunday begins at 2 p.m.
  • Where: The Ocala Civic Theatre, 4337 E Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala.
  • Cost: Adult tickets are $35-$40 and ages 18 and under are $17-$20 depending on seating.
