(UPDATE: OCALA POLICE ISSUE STATEMENT) Two-Vehicle Crash in Ocala Results in a Fatality

OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Ocala Police are at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on the 1000 block of S Pine Ave. One person was taken to the hospital and later died, according to the Ocala Police Department.

UPDATE: The Ocala Police Department issued the following statement on the morning of Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026:

“On February 4, at approximately 2:15 a.m., Ocala Police responded to a tragic accident near the 1000 block of S Pine Avenue. A rear-end collision occurred involving a semi-truck and a Honda Civic. Both vehicles were traveling northbound in the middle lane approaching SW 10th Street when the semi-truck came to a stop for a red light. The Honda Civic failed to stop, and its front collided with the rear of the semi.

The driver of the Honda, a 40-year-old man, was transported to the hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured.

Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time. The crash remains under investigation.”
