Heritage Park

Heritage Park, located at 2005 NE 3rd St. in Ocala, provides a quiet community space with open green lawns, shaded areas and simple walking paths surrounded by mature trees. Visitors often stop by to relax on benches, enjoy the gazebo area or take a short walk through the park’s peaceful setting.

The park is open dawn to dusk daily, and admission is free to the public.

Hunter Springs Park

Hunter Springs Park, located at 104 NE 1st Ave. in Crystal River, offers a unique waterfront setting where visitors can walk along boardwalks and grassy areas overlooking Kings Bay. The park features a small beach area, a boardwalk along the water and a kayak launch, making it a popular place to relax, picnic or watch for wildlife such as birds and manatees. A natural spring located just offshore helps keep the water clear and a constant temperature year-round.

The park is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and admission and kayak launch is free to visitors.

Sholom Park

Sholom Park at 7110 SW 80th Ave. in southwest Ocala is known for its quiet atmosphere and wide paved pathways that make it ideal for a peaceful walk. Visitors can stroll along winding paths, sit on benches throughout the park or enjoy the calm setting that attracts locals looking for a relaxing outdoor escape.

The park is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., including holidays, and admission is free.

S. Stanley Malever Nature Trail

S. Stanley Malever Nature Trail, or Ocala Nature Trail, is located at 1600 SE 30th Ave. It offers a quiet wooded setting for visitors who want to explore nature within the city of Ocala. The park includes shaded walking trails and boardwalks that pass through natural areas and wetlands, allowing visitors to experience Florida’s native landscape while enjoying a peaceful walk.

The park is open daily from dawn to dusk, and admission is free to all visitors.

Sweetwater Wetlands Park

Sweetwater Wetlands Park, located at 325 SW Williston Rd. in Gainesville, offers more than 125 acres of restored wetlands with walking trails and boardwalks. Visitors can explore the landscape while observing wildlife on more than 3.5 miles of gravel trails and elevated viewing areas.

The park is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission costs $5 per vehicle or $2 per person for pedestrians or cyclists.

Tuscawilla Park and Tuscawilla Art Park

Tuscawilla Park, located at 829 NE Sanchez Ave. near downtown Ocala, is one of the city’s most recognizable public parks. Walking paths circle a duck pond beneath large oak trees, while open lawns provide space for relaxing or meeting up with friends.

Adjacent to the main park is Tuscawilla Art Park, a three-acre space that blends outdoor recreation with public art. The park features colorful sculptures and installations and often hosts concerts, festivals and community events.

Both parks are open dawn to dusk daily and admission to both is free.

Wooton Park

Wooton Park at 100 E Ruby St. sits along Lake Dora in downtown Tavares and offers scenic waterfront views along paved walking paths and open green spaces. Visitors can stroll along the lake, relax in shaded areas or watch boats move through the nearby marina. The park also frequently hosts community events and festivals throughout the year.

The park is open daily from dawn to dusk and admission is free.
