WILDWOOD, FL (352today.com) – The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Purple Alert for a man missing from the Wildwood area.

They’re asking you to be on the lookout for Tony Hodges, 36. Hodges is approximately 6′ tall and weighing 180 lbs.

Deputies say Hodges is in a silver Ford Fusion 4D with VA tag TSF6920. They say he was last seen in the area of Jackson Street wearing a vivid blue shirt, black shorts with holes, and black shoes.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement website indicates Purple Alerts are activated when the missing person has any combination of the following: an intellectual or developmental disability, brain injury; or another physical, mental, or emotional disability that is not related to substance abuse and does not have Alzheimer’s or a dementia-related disorder.

Florida’s Purple Alert Plan was established by the Florida Legislature in 2021 and put into action July 1, 2022.

If you see Hodges, please call 911.
