SUMTER COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Enjoy a summer series of kids learning through adventure with various activities lined up for Sumter County libraries. For those interested, locals can pick up library passports and reading logs from any library to begin participating in a series of events geared toward elementary aged children. Here are some of the upcoming events to experience through June 2026.

Junior Paleontologist: Unearth Dinosaurs

  • What: Lean into the world of paleontology, digging up dinosaur fossils and learning how scientists collaborate to make discoveries. This hands-on activity will provide a fun and educational experience for children 18 years old and younger.
  • When: Friday, June 19 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
  • Where: Pinellas Plaza Library, 7375 Powell Rd, Wildwood.

Razzmatazz-Ventriloquist: & Magic Show

  • What: Watch as Razzmatazz Entertainment showcases multiple talents with ventriloquism, magic and comedy. Experience illusions and audience participation.
  • When: Friday, June 19 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Where: Bushnell Library, 402 N. Florida St, Bushnell.

Tony the Balloon Guy

  • What: Learn the art of balloon shapes with an interactive demonstration for participants to make their own. Tony the Balloon Guy is a recurring guest at Sumter libraries for children to make their own balloon shapes.
  • When: Saturday, June 20 from 2-3 p.m.
  • Where: Pinellas Plaza Library, 7375 Powell Rd, Wildwood.

American Road Trip: One Nation, Many Magical Stories

  • What: Explore America’s history across multiple states through magical illusions and exciting puppetry with a variety of stories.
  • When: Monday, June 22 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Where: Pinellas Plaza Library, 7375 Powell Rd, Wildwood.

Mysterious Mona Lisa

  • What: Take a step back in time to rediscover the original “Renaissance Man,” Leonardo Da Vinci. Explore his art, music and science to bring history to life.
  • When: Monday, June 22 from 2-3 p.m.
  • Where: Gloria Rowe Hayward Public Library, 215 Gloria Rowe Hayward Way, Sumterville.

Science Heroes: Digging It!

  • What: Experience exciting experiments while learning about archaeology with an interactive S.T.E.M. showcase.
  • When: Tuesday, June 23 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Where: Panasoffkee Community Library, 1500 County Rd 459, Lake Panasoffkee.

Circus Gracie

  • What: Kids can watch a dazzling circus performance with interactive elements for children to build confidence, coordination and creativity.
  • When: Wednesday, June 24 from 2-3 p.m.
  • Where: E.C. Rowell, 2810 C-478-A, Webster.
