Santa Fe College Zoo adjusts prices, doubles conservation commitment

GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) Santa Fe College (SF) opened in 1966 and has established programs and services that make it possible for the college to carry out its mission of adding value to the lives of students and enriching the community. It is home to a planetarium, a state-of-the-art Fine Arts Hall and the nationally recognized teaching zoo.

Admission prices will increase for the SF College Teaching Zoo effective Sept. 1, 2023, in an effort to maintain accessibility while ensuring continued excellence in animal care and conservation. The new pricing will be:

  • Adults (13-59) – $10
  • Children (4-12), Seniors (60+), UF students, faculty and staff (with Gator1 ID) – $6
  • Children 3 and under, SF students, faculty, staff and retirees (with SFID) – Free

Annual memberships have also increased:

  • Individual – $35
  • Couple – $60
  • Family up to 4 – $75
  • Family up to 5 – $95

The zoo continues to offer many discounts to support the community including those for teachers, active military and veterans, healthcare workers and first responders (LEOs, firefighters, EMT) who receive a discounted $6 admission with valid ID. Those who receive SBT assistance can visit the zoo for $3 per person (up to four people) as part of the Museums for All program.

SF College Teaching Zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The last ticket is sold at 2:30 p.m.  The zoo is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. For more information, please visit the zoo’s website or call 352-395-5633.
