OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Paddock Market, a new vendor-style marketplace in Ocala, has begun limited operations inside the former Sears space at the Paddock Mall at 3100 SW College Road, though many businesses planned for the market have not yet opened.

Plans for Paddock Market were first announced in 2023 as a redevelopment of the former anchor space which closed in 2018. The project was initially expected to open in phases later that year, but construction and build-out continued into 2025 as the space was reconfigured to accommodate multiple vendors.

The market is designed to house a mix of small retail shops, food vendors and service-based businesses. As of Wednesday, the space is accessible to the public, vendor occupancy remains partial.

One of the vendors, Clearance Cove, is scheduled to open Friday, according to promotional material. A small number of other vendors appear to be operating on a limited basis, though hours and availability vary and some spaces remain unoccupied or under construction.

A vendor list associated with the market includes food and beverage businesses such as Pita King, Taco y Mas, Four Smokes BBQ, Maramay and Moodys Brewing, as well as retail businesses including Dynasty Boutique, Divyne Gifts, LLC, Unique Luxury Candle Bar, The Journey Bookstore, Jaziel 3D Toys, Pat’s Creations & Gifts and Mr. Mobile Solutions. Service-oriented tenants listed include Fresh Cutz Barbershop, Ink Vault Tattoo Studio, Elegant Tailoring & Alterations, Joicy Nails Spa & Academy and Joiners Martial Arts.

As of this week, many of the listed businesses had not yet opened to the public. Market organizers have not announced a full opening date for all vendors. Additional businesses are expected to open on a rolling basis as build-outs are completed and vendors finalize preparations. In the meantime, visitors may encounter a mix of open businesses, closed storefronts and ongoing interior work.
