Marion County Sheriff’s Office issues a purple alert for missing man with brain injury

MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) issued a purple alert for a Dunnellon man after receiving a report that he was went missing Wednesday.

Deputies say 29-year-old Matthew Davis was last seen leaving his home at 137 SW Lombardy Lane in Dunnellon around 2 p.m. They say he was driving a gray 2012 Toyota Highlander with Florida tag “KUGX06” and wearing a dark colored t-shirt/hat, and khaki shorts.

He is 5 foot 7 inches tall and weighs around 260 pounds. Davis also has blue eyes and blonde hair. Deputies say he has a brain injury after having several brain surgeries.

The sheriff’s office shared in a Facebook post that they received information he was possibly in the Crystal River area around 5 p.m. Wednesday. They say he made certain remarks before leaving his home that have them concerned for his safety.
