INVERNESS, FL (352today.com) – Celebrate Independence Day with a Patriotic Evening for a special community gathering with the City of Inverness. This family-friendly celebration is free and open to the public for a full evening of fun on Friday, July 3, starting at 3 p.m. in Liberty Park, N. Apopka Ave. in Inverness.

Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to watch live entertainment, shop food vendors, play family games and watch a fantastic display of fireworks. Live entertainment begins at 3 p.m. starting with Small Town Slam Wrestling where local pro wrestlers will be battling in a showdown for the championship at Depot Pavillion, 300 N. Apopka Ave. Nuthin’ Fancy: A Tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd will follow at 5:30 p.m. for a high-energy southern rock performance at Liberty Park. Country artist Hayden Coffman will take the stage at 7:45 p.m. for another performance after his appearance at last year’s Patriotic Evening.

For a special feature of the evening, The Friends of the Withlacoochee State Trail invite guests to watch the unveiling of the restored exterior of the 100-year-old Magor Company wooden cupola caboose. This caboose serves as a symbol of railroad heritage, shaping the rise of the Withlacoochee State Trail. Guests can experience this caboose from 3-5 p.m. with a temporary museum inside featuring photographs, artifacts and stories.

After the final performance of the evening, guests can watch the display of fireworks shoot off from Lake Henderson. Guests can watch the display from Liberty Park, Depot District or Wallace Brooks Park at 328 E. Dampier St. For those who want to commemorate the occasion, everyone will have the opportunity to purchase Summer of 250 merchandise.

The Summer of 250 is Inverness’s month-long celebration of events, community activities and hometown fun. This celebration of America 250 began in June, leading up to the big Patriotic Evening. To remember this semiquincentennial observance, they offer limited-edition shirts and hats for guests to order online or pick up at the Parks & Recreations office and events.

Take the opportunity to celebrate Independence Day and America 250 with this family-friendly community event for an exciting day out. Admission to this event is free and open to the public for friends and family to gather together.
