Gainesville police looking for suspect wanted in Zaxby’s shooting

GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) is asking for your help locating a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting at a Zaxby’s on Saturday, Oct. 21.

Police say they responded to the Zaxby’s located on Northwest 10th Avenue around 9 p.m. after receiving multiple reports that someone entered the restaurant pointing a gun at several employees. They say the suspect then fired his gun at the employees and then took money from the restaurant.

The suspect fled from the scene has not yet been located, according to officers. They say he was last seen wearing black pants, a black hoodie and a black-and-white face covering.

Police say no one was injured.
