Another arrest occurred after Corporal Carlos Arias responded to an attempted burglary and battery at a local residence. Investigators said Helvin Morales drove from Georgia to confront a former partner after the victim ended their long-distance relationship. During the night, Morales allegedly tried to enter the home using a credit card. When two victims exited the residence, Morales battered both before fleeing. Corporal Beccue later located his vehicle on N Highway 441 and conducted a traffic stop. Deputies said Morales was still in possession of the credit card used in the attempted break-in. He was arrested and taken to jail.
Deputies also responded to the 11400 block of NW 10th Place after reports of a suspicious vehicle. At the scene, they located a 2025 Kia on the roadside with shattered windows and significant body damage. The vehicle’s owner arrived while deputies were on site and told them the car was undamaged when she left it. The estimated damage is valued at approximately $3,000. The case remains under investigation.
