OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Dance Divine School of Ballet presents the story of the prophet Daniel as told through ballet in “Daniel: The Most High Rules” during multiple performances this weekend. The production featured two shows on Saturday, May 9, 2026 with a matinee at 2 p.m. and another performance at 7 p.m. Both performances took place at the College of Central Florida’s Dassance Fine Arts Center, 3001 SW College Rd. in Ocala.

The performance follows the biblical tale of the prophet, Daniel in two acts. Act I begins with King Nebuchadnezzar conquering Jerusalem in 586 BC before introducing Daniel along with Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. Due to their commitment to God, Daniel was gifted the ability to interpret dreams and visions while the other three were saved from the fiery furnace.

Following the events of the first act, Act II showcases Daniel reading the prophecy of the fall of the Babylonian kingdom on a wall. On that same night, the kingdom fell and Daniel was promoted under King, Darius, and ordered to test his commitment to God by praying in a lion’s den before being rescued. This final act closed the story of Daniel, showcasing the gifts he was presented for his commitment and faithfulness.

Both performances on May 9 reached the theater’s maximum capacity, including extra seating, prior to the dances with more guests watching on monitors outside of the auditorium. In between performances, guests commented that the performances were beautiful, inspiring and visually stunning. Many visitors visited from other cities including Miami, Jacksonville, Inverness, Orlando and Gainesville to watch the performance.

To catch the final performance of this run, visit CF’s Dassance Fine Arts Center on Sunday, May 10 at 2 p.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to as admission to the ballet is free with first-come, first-served seating.
