GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – Art and entertainment will fill the streets of downtown Gainesville this weekend.

The city of Gainesville’s annual Downtown Festival and Art Show will be held this Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 18 & 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The festival is held on the streets around Bo Diddley Plaza located at 111 East University Ave.

The city says the festival will showcase several hundred of the nation’s most talented artists.

Booths will be filled with paintings, sculptures, photography, jewelry, ceramics, and other handcrafted items.

Children will have the chance to get creative with hands-on art activities.

Music and street entertainment will also be offered throughout the weekend, as well as dozens of options for food.

“This will be the 42nd anniversary for the event, which has been consistently ranked as one of the top festivals in the nation and provides a large economic boost to the Gainesville area,” said the city in a news release.
