Alachua Man Dies in Single Vehicle Accident

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – A 19-year-old Alachua man died as a result of single vehicle crash during the early morning hours of March 15, 2026.

The incident occurred about 12 a.m. at NW 165th NW 270th Ave, in Alachua County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

It was determined the vehicle was traveling north on NW 165th St. at a high rate of speed, failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the road onto the east shoulder, where the front of the vehicle collided with a tree, according to authorities.

The driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is being investigated by the Florida Highway Patrol’s Homicide Unit.

The Florida Highway Patrol was assisted by the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office and Alachua County Fire and Rescue.
