OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Bright murals, street-style tacos and a colorful tribute to Mexican culture greet diners at Frida’s Tacos & Tequila, one of southwest Ocala’s newest spots for bold flavors.

Located in the Shady Oaks Shopping Center at 2445 SW 27th Ave., the restaurant pairs vibrant decor inspired by famed artist Frida Kahlo with a menu packed with crowd-pleasers, from sizzling fajitas and loaded quesadillas to slow-braised birria tacos.

The restaurant is owned by Miguel Santillan, who also operates La Hacienda Tacos & Tequila. With years of experience under his belt, Santillan brings a deep understanding of authentic flavors and modern twists to Frida’s, making sure every dish–from street-style tacos to specialty cocktails–hits the perfect balance of tradition and creativity.

Inside, the walls are alive with massive murals and Dia de los Muertos-inspired artwork, creating a festive atmosphere that’s as much about culture as it is about food.

The menu centers on street tacos, featuring house-made tortillas and meats like al pastor, carne asada and birria. Beyond tacos, guests can enjoy enchiladas, sizzling fajitas and quesabirria, a cheese-filled, slow-cooked beef dish. Each dish is crafted with bold seasonings and fresh ingredients, perfect for sharing or savoring solo. Boasting one of the largest selections of tequila and mezcal in town via Frida’s “Tequilla Library,” the collection fuels craft margaritas and cocktails designed to pair with the menu.

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Diners can reach out at 352-718-3189 for more information.

With lively decor, flavorful eats and drinks to match, Frida’s Tacos & Tequilla makes every visit feel like a celebration. Whether diners stop in for taco Tuesday, a night out with friends or a casual family dinner, the restaurant adds another vibrant chapter to Ocala’s growing food scene–proving that sometimes, a little twist is all it takes to turn a meal into an experience.
