Whether watching bull riding, taking a nature walk or listening to music, there’s plenty of outdoor activities to keep the weekend active. 3rd Annual Memorial Bulls & Barrels

  • What: Jenkins Bobcat of Citrus County will be hosting the 3rd Annual Memorial Bulls & Barrels of bull riding and barrel racing. Prior to the shows, guests can enjoy bites from food trucks or shop through a variety of local vendors.
  • When: Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9 from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
  • Where: Citrus County Fair Grounds, 3600 S. Florida Ave., Inverness.
  • Cost: Advanced tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids aged four-12. Gate tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for kids aged four-12. Entrance is free for ages three and under.

Mother’s Day Weekend at Cannon Farms

  • What: Enjoy a relaxing day on the farm with a Kids’ Zone, food trucks, vendors, live music and large flower fields to walk through. For additional costs, guests can pick flowers to build bouquets and enjoy a hayride.
  • When: Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Where: Cannon Farms, 11801 SW 180th Ave., Dunnellon.
  • Cost: $5 for general admission.

Wetland Appreciation Day

  • What: Join in the celebration of Ocala’s wetlands with hands-on activities, guided nature walks and giveaways for an educational opportunity to learn more about the wetlands. Take this opportunity to explore the environment that supports the local ecosystem and wildlife.
  • When: Saturday, May 9 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Where: Wetland Recharge Park, 2105 NW 21st St., Ocala.
  • Cost: Free to attend.

Symphony Under the Stars

  • What: The Fine Arts of Ocala (FAFO) presents Symphony Under the Stars where guests can experience a full symphony during this outdoor concert. Maestro Matthew Wardell will be conducting the symphony at 7:15 p.m. Guests can listen to other live performances, grab a bite to eat at food trucks and explore the area. Following the symphony, a firework display will begin at 9 p.m. for a grand finale.
  • When: Sunday, May 10 starting at 3 p.m.
  • Where: Ocala Golf Club, 3130 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala.
  • Cost: $25 for adults 18 and older, $5 for children aged 13-17 and free for 12 and under.
