MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a 22-year-old man Tuesday morning after deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), Ja’ Shaun O’Neil refused to stop and sped away after deputies attempted to pull him over.

They say O’Neil then sped through the South Pine Apartments and lost control of the vehicle. According to deputies, O’Neil got out of his vehicle and took off on foot.

Deputies were able to catch him and take him into custody.

After further investigation, deputies say they found drug paraphernalia and shotgun ammo inside of the suspect’s vehicle,

O’Neil was arrested and charged with fleeing to elude a law enforcement officer, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, driving with a suspended license, resisting arrest without violence, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
